Ireland’s only 64-slice CT scanner for pets

Here at Veterinary Specialists Ireland, we want the best for your pet. That means we invest in the latest technologies. Faster image acquisition means shorter anaesthetic time and reduced risk. We offer inpatient and outpatient CT scans by referral appointment.

Inpatient vs. Outpatient CT

Inpatient CT scans are performed following a consultation with one of our Specialists to determine the exact type of scan recommended, often on the same day as consultation

As your pet is under the care of one of our Specialists, we can perform further tests or treatments under the same sedation or anaesthetic, and alter the diagnostic or treatment plan based on real-time results

This way we can ensure your pet gets the tests and treatment they need in the most efficient and least invasive manner. One of our Specialists will discuss the results of the CT report in-depth with you and recommend treatment options

Outpatient CT is when only a CT scan is requested by your referring vet, with no consultation with a Specialist. Your pet will be cleared for anaesthesia by your vet and your vet will receive the CT report and discuss the findings with you

As a Specialist won’t be involved in your pet’s care during their visit for outpatient CT, there are some instances when outpatient CT may not be the best choice for your pet and a consultation with a Specialist may be recommended first
