When we started Ireland's first small animal dialysis programme just over a year ago, we invested in infrastructure for not one but two dialysis platforms
This incredible service has gone from strength to strength and today we reached another milestone when we had two patients undergoing dialysis simultaneously to treat their kidney injuries 🙌
Blood purification therapies such as dialysis are a literal lifesaver, helping to take the place of the kidneys or liver while the body recovers from illness or injury, and removing harmful toxins, inflammation or immune complexes
This lifesaving service simply wouldn't be possible without the incredible ECC Specialists and nurses who go above and beyond, completing rigorous additional training and committing to working the unsociable hours this service often demands 🙏
Pets and people don't decide when to get sick and we are committed to ensuring they can always access the most advanced care as and when they need it ❤️🩹
Thank you to everyone who supports us and shares our vision 🥹

Mo miraculously survives being hit by a train 🚂💥❤️
When Mo was rushed to us after being dragged under a train, his outlook appeared grim. He had sustained severe injuries, including burns over 30% of his body and limb loss.
Although survival was uncertain, Mo's spirit was strong and his family refused to give up on him
Incredibly, Mo beat the odds and then some! 🙌
After two major surgeries and dedicated care in our ICU, we are overjoyed to share that he has made an incredible recovery and is already adapting beautifully to life on three legs 🥹
A massive thank you to our Specialist Surgery and Critical Care teams who worked seamlessly together to ensure Mo got every ounce of care he needed 24/7
And a special thank you to Mo's family for trusting us with his life 🙏❤️

Congratulations to Dr. Rozalia Rekaris on an outstanding article in the June edition of Veterinary Ireland Journal on tremorgenic mycotoxins 👏
Roza was inspired to write this article following her involvement in saving the family of 4 dogs that presented to our emergency room earlier this year with life-threatening illness following suspected intoxication
This is what an internship is about - learning directly with Specialists and then taking time to reflect, research and share information with colleagues 🙌
Well done Roza! We are very proud of your achievement 👏

We are so pleased to introduce Dr. Olivia Walesby, European Specialist in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care 🙌
Olivia is a proud Scot, and after graduating from the University of Glasgow she gained a wealth of experience in first opinion and emergency practice before embarking on the long path to specialisation
Olivia completed her residency at the University of Edinburgh, continuing there as a Specialist before joining our Critical Care Team in Summerhill earlier his year
Olivia has specific interests in sepsis, coagulation disorders, point of care ultrasound and improving CPR survival rates
As well as being an outstanding clinician, most importantly Olivia shares all of our core values and is an all-round genuinely lovely person with unwavering dedication, compassion and care for each and every one of her patients, many of who are seriously ill or injured
We believe all pets should be able to access Specialist-led care care if and when they need it 24/7/365
Watch this space for more exciting developments from our ECC Service 🙌
