We’re delighted to announce two brand new positions within our Emergency Service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, supportive, and collaborative team of Veterinary Professionals who prioritise excellence in all aspects of Veterinary Emergency care.

What We’re Looking For:
  • We are seeking 2 individuals who are passionate about emergency cases to join our Nursing team as dedicated Emergency Nurses.
  • Candidates should have a genuine passion for emergencies and all that they entail.
  • The ideal candidate can remain calm under pressure and offer compassionate, clear communication to clients.
  • This is an emergency frontline position ideal for a confident and outgoing RVN. As a primary point of contact for our emergency cases, you’ll play a vital role in both client service and gold standard patient care.

The primary roles of the successful candidates will include:

  • Client communication
  • Emergency advice phone calls
  • Admit and discharge of patients
  • Dispensing medication
  • Triage of emergency cases
  • Primary survey of patients upon presentation
  • Secondary survey of admitted emergency cases
  • Assisting in emergency procedures

Schedule & Work Details:
  •  Full-time role averaging 36 hours per week
  • Location: In-person, Meath
  • 16 shifts over a 4-week period
    • Includes 2 weekend shifts per 2-week period (every other weekend)
    • Weekday shifts: 3:30pm – 12am (8-hour shift plus 30 minute break)
    • Weekend shifts: 10am-11pm (12-hour shift plus 1 hour break)
  • Pattern of shifts:
    • Week 1: Tuesday-Friday (Off Monday, Saturday, Sunday)
    • Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (Off Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
    • Week 3: Tuesday-Friday (Off Monday, Saturday, Sunday)
    • Week 4: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (Off Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Annual leave is entitlement is statutory 20 days per annum, excluding bank holidays
Requirements:
  • Veterinary Nursing Degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) – Essential
  • Current VCI registration – Essential
  • Additional qualifications or interest in completing additional qualifications – Preferable

This position is open to both new graduate Veterinary Nurses and experienced Veterinary Nurses.
