The vision
Veterinary Specialists Ireland was founded by Laura Cuddy and Turlough Mc Nally in 2019 to provide exemplary advanced specialist care to small animals on the island of Ireland
The foundation
Laura and Turlough graduated from University College Dublin in 2008 and underwent 5 years further rigorous training in some of the largest and most advanced hospitals in the United States
The idea
The call of home meant a return to Ireland in 2013, but nothing quite compared to their experiences in the United States
So they decided to build their own private specialty small animal hospital in Summerhill, Co. Meath
The family
Like an episode of Grand Designs, they added a two human babies to their Weimaraner family in the midst of the project…
The present
The family was delighted to open the doors of the state-of-the-art 8,000 sq ft hospital in June 2019
The old adage ‘build it and they will come’ proved true, and our hospital family expanded exponentially
The recent addition of emergency and critical care and internal medicine services means we are the only small animal hospital in Ireland that can cater for any type of acute or chronic injury or illness, under the direction of a Specialist, 24–7–365
Our internationally renowned Specialists participate in residency training and research programmes, and continued professional development workshops for our referring veterinary professionals, with the ultimate goal of advancing high quality and compassionate health care for pets in Ireland

Our family look forward to expansion of our specialist services to include sub-specialties of our main disciplines
